Permanent Scholarly Archiving With Portico
"The mission of Portico is to preserve scholarly literature published in electronic form and to ensure that these materials remain accessible to future scholars, researchers, and students." [ Statement on Portico web site]
NYSHEI is pleased to announce a partnership with Portico. NYSHEI members that begin participation in Portico in 2006 or 2007 will be designated as a Portico Archive Founder, with Portico providing:
- NYSHEI members that sign up in 2006 with a 25% savings for five years off of the published Annual Archive Support fees.
- NYSHEI Members that sign up in 2007 with a 10% savings for five years off of the published Annual Archive Support fees.
Additionally, Portico will provide NYSHEI members with a 5% savings on their Annual Archive Support (AAS) fee.

Many of you have expressed a desire to be kept apprised of Portico's activities and development, and we have previously reported to you on the initial support which Portico has received from JSTOR, Ithaka, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Library of Congress.
