Governor David Paterson’s newly created task force on higher education – industry partnerships has launched its website and formally named task force members.

The task force, chaired by Cornell University President David Skorton, is tasked with finding opportunties for enhanced collaborations between the academic and business sectors.  Specific attention will be paid to foster economic growth around energy technology, biotechnology and medicine, agriculture, and nanotechnology.

NYSHEI has already begun working with members of the task force to promote the essential role of academic and research libraries in facilitating the requisite research and information sharing needed to develop New Yo9rk’s information age economy.
